the transition between frames 6,7 and 8 has always interested me...John Schlee ( a weekend clinic a long time ago) told me that the left knee moving laterally down the target line was a conscious move...TGM I believe teaches that it is a reaction to the supporting of the hip slide. Comments/help.... 12pb?

I would agree, for Hogan it sure does appear to be a conscious move. A very useful one IMO.

Id agree with that too EdZ, Hip Slide with a Delayed Turn.
Ive always wondered about this particular swing. Do you think it was his long bomb, super high trajectory swing for the camera. He seems to be tilting back for than norma and giving it ride. I know he did long drive exhibitions maybe this was the swing he employed? Not a tournament swing I dont think.

This is without question more of "slasher" type hogan swing than others . . . HOWEVER . . . those principles were there ALWAYS . . maybe more nuanced . . . but there . . . check these out . . .
You can see Eldrick and Hogan in similar alignments HOWEVER . . . check the right shoulder location . . . which right shoulder is fulfilling a true down out and forward motion? Who's clubface is going to move about the sweet spot faster?

Hogan's hips went more forward than anybody ever period . . . as soon as the knee loses it's flex the hips want to spin instead of keep going forward. Schlee=on the money. Another thing to check from 7 to 8 is look how he's using the ground . . . the head has clearly gone down some . . . looks like Barkely going down into the court fixin' to snatch a rebound . . . then in the frames from then on . . . springing up. BIG POWER MOVE.
This would be swinging from the feet . . . full radius stuff . . . every pivot component going from out of line to in line ankles to knees to hips to each of them vertibraes . . . to the lever assemblies . . . everything loaded and RELEASED TO FULL EXTESION . . . pivot components and power package components.
Any similarities???
