Golf In America 7/6/10
The 7/6 episode of Golf In America (Golf Channel)will be running 1 of the segments on the owner/head professional at my home course here in Pittsburgh, Hickory Heights Golf Club. The owner/head pro is Sam Depe III. About 13 years ago Sam won a Tri-State PGA event and while driving home that evening was involved in a horrific car accident---lost both legs, coma for 2 weeks, multiple cardiac arrests and multiple transfusions---and survived. Really a story of courage. When people ask Sam if he misses golf he usually replies that he really misses going out in the evenings and playing skins games with the guys. And then says, " on the other hand I haven't made a bogey in 12 years!"
He is a phenomenal guy and I hope the Golf Channel lets that show through. Dave

Dave, there are lots of colf courses between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Maybe we need to invent a TGM PA I-80 Golf Trail or some reason to play in the middle of the state!
