Have to admit Casey the dog is quite the actor.

I find him to be very interesting. Another traveller on the road to golf knowledge. His is an honest opinion with no vested monetary interest.
His contention is that Hogans statement about the secret being in the dirt was not a reference to practice but rather a literal truth. His extra spike , ground force, pivot points are all in the dirt. He posted macro photos of Hogans feet mid swing showing twists and gaps between his foot and shoe that suggest to him a confirmation of something he himself discovered and does to great effect. Namely a pre screwing or torque of the feet in a clockwise direction which "automates" the Hogan pivot that VJ describes. Once pre set the pivot is automatic. He asked Moe if he did it and he asked Moe if Hogan did it. Moe said something like " Why sure, sure, sure he did" and then pulled out a series of Hogan photos to discuss it. Interesting. The pre screwing of the right foot automates the Hogan transition and promotes backing into the left side with the right hip back. The pre screwing of the left foot automating the posting on the left side. I am playing around with it to mixed results. The prescrew on the right side does seem to make the right hip clear on its own going back. I'd be happy as a clam if I could "automate" the Hogan left side post up. Only been working on it for 30 years or so. Has anybody ever heard of this pre screw thing before? O.B. |
If this is as he thinks, would Hogan be able to play in soft spikes?

Couldn't remember how to start a new thread - so here goes:
At address - Why if I aim my clubface to the right it is open and if I aim my stance to the right it is closed? |
Why if at the top of the swing my wrist is arched and the clubface points more to the sky is that closed and when my wrist is bent "they" consider the clubface open, when if I am at address/impact if I arch my wrist the clubface points more to the right - "open" and if I bend my wrist the clubface points more to the left - "closed"?
|
To limit confusion - For each of the above two questions and the one in this post - please consider labeling your reply post with the following subject title as such:
1st post - label it 1st post or "at address open and closed" 2nd post - label it 2nd post or "at the top open and closed" 3rd post i.e. this post below - label it 3rd post or "acceleration" using an example or simple english explain the relationships i.e. integrate the following concepts. speed, velocity, acceleration, force, momentum (feel free to correspondingly support the english version with the mathematical definition and relationship of each concept) |
1. post
yes, I think so. 2.post not sure. 3.post (2x3y)2 doesn't make any sense..
