Miller on 7 Nights at the Academy

Wondering if any of you saw Johnny Miller's episode on the Golf Channel which aired 12/12/11? I thought there was some interesting machine thoughts in his discussion. He didnt use TGM terms but had a lot to say about pp#3. In particular he talked about aiming the index finger while maintaining a constant pressure on it. However, the pp#3 aiming he was talking about was the linear direction the indix finger points at impact as it corresponds to the direction of the clubface (not tracing a plane line). He showed how to do it and was interesting. I've never heard of that before. Thoughts?

Yes I saw it.

I like to listen to him when he has some time to explain himself. And watching him demo the moves is a bliss. He has really good moves. I watch Sir N afterwards and that was not as good IMO.

He may not be everybody's favorite announcer but Johnny was very very pure with gorgeous alignments and ability to use hinging. He could stiff it with a fairway wood as easy as an iron. Always hit it hole high, or so it seemed. I wonder if it didn't get a little boring to him after a while. Plus putting could be an issue as he seldom had to do much more than kick it in!

He was certainly one of the best players of all time, if only for a brief period of time.

Miller's Stuff

Johnny seems to be addressing the golfers with advanced course materials while Floyd and Faldo are speaking to elementary school levels. Last nite's stopping a full swing at impact may be ok if you have already worked on basic motion first for about an hour (IMHO).
