THE "TEARDROP" FLOP, SOFT SHOT

Do any of you use a technique... similar to a Reverse Shift on short wedges, where the shaft steepens on the backswing(the butt of the club will probably point inside the plane) , then shallows on the downswing? I used to hear guys call this a TEARDROP shot, when used with little soft shots, and maybe some bunker shots. I see some guys use this on everything, of course, Furyk, Price are versions of this.

Yeah...

guys with a weak grip type and punch or push elbow using angled or pressing toward vertical hinging...very...very soft wedges....

I know PGA Tour/Champions Tour Player....Pat McGowan hit them for me every day for 4 years at Pine Needles...

Oh yeah check out Kevin Stadler's flop...not many better at that shot in the game ...

he showed me his "no" knuckles grip ...thumb quartered to the Front... then use standard/Double wrist action in the backstoke then use a 'flip " release

...it's sick...just sick!!!!

Is this what Utley does?

You prolly wouldn't even need to open the clubface eh?

Utley uses a lot of #3 acumulator and rhythms it out with hip action...at least this is what he demonstrated to us at the PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit this past year...I'm sure he's go more in the bag...afterall ...he's a PLAYER!!!
