New Book From TGM
Just a heads up. There is a new book available for order from The Golfing Machine:
Biomechanical Integration Approach Quick Overview The Golfing Machine’s Division of Biomechanics and Sports Science introduces a new text and coursework tailored to the Authorized Instructor, Golf Professional, Health Professional, and Fitness Professional. I'm excited to see what it's all about! https://www.thegolfingmachine.com/St...s/bia2009.html Written by a GSEM, it will be nice to learn about biomechanics from someone who already understands the golf swing! yes
sounds interesting.....anyone with more knowledge of the book or the author?
|
I guess I am a little surprised to not see much buzz about the book. Do you guys know something I don't? I'm hoping the new book will be a partner to Mr. Kelley's work, as well as an extension of it. Hopefully it's not being looked at as any sort of replacement or competitor? Any words of wisdom, or just being cautious of something new?
Thanks, Kevin |
I saw the book at TGM's booth at the PGA Show; it may become part of the curriculum.

1- D. STRUCTURE "The vertical wall wall will support a load that would crumple the leaning wall. But a vertical picket fence will never support the load easily handled by a vertical brick wall." The book you are refering to is written by Dr. Matthew Rosman. He is a GSEM and I believe a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine. The book is meant as a companion to The Golfing Machine and will be worked into the A.I. cirriculum. The book's focus is on how your machine (your body) works in relation to TGM. It also contains information on how to maintain your Machine (your body). The book is NOT about how to swing the club, but rather a what happens to your body during the swing manual. For those who wish for even more information Dr. Rosman suggests using the "Illustrated Atlas of Musculoskeletal Anatomy". The Atlas can be used as a reference manual for those who want a more in depth explanation of topics discussed in Dr. Rosman's book. Anyone interested in why a person's body cannot execute some type of motion can benefit from seeking out this type of information. There are various sources for this kind of information. All I can say is that I have glanced at the material in these books and will be purchasing them. Michael Phillips PGA, GSEB |

Thank you very much for the detailed reply. I was getting nervous at the sounds of silence over this book. I am fairly new to TGM, but LOVE it, and BELIEVE in it, as well as being a HUGE believer in how Mr. Blake and the crew here teach it. I was beginning to think ugly thoughts about where this was headed... I am extremely happy to hear that Dr. Rossman is not attempting to change Mr. Kelley's work, we all have so much invested in our learning journey. What you have described is just what I was hoping for. Thank you Sir, Kevin |

My A.I. school buddy, any reason TGM home office hasn't notified us A.I.'s of this new approach? BTW, 60 degrees in Mass. yesterday. Drew |
I have spoken to a guy who specialises in biomechanics and his comment was that without screening someone it is impossible to accurately prescribe exercises that will improve their action.
At almost $60 I know that it is of zero interest to me. |

My best guess is that the books will be made available (with an added cost) as a supplement to the courses currrently being offered, with a stand alone course being offered sometime in the future. Northern NM is in the low 40's. We are opening the course here this weekend. This is a soft opening as there is still some patchy areas of snow. The Red Sox Nation is strong out here and we are anxiously the season opener. |
