The point of this video is that the Body supports the intention of the Hands, not vice-versa. Compare the hand-to-shoulder relationship in the photos below: it is identical. The only difference is the waist bend. When your Hands know what they're supposed to do, the Body will provide the necessary transport. This is a huge concept, one that will free you forever from the bondage of Pivot-Controlled Hands. We edited the above post elsewhere, and it never came up under the Today's Posts tab. I think it's important. Let me know what you think!

Great stuff, it answers a lot of current questions on the forum!

Experience and Freedom to Experiment
Quote:
I don't have the time, now, to incorporate all the clever concepts into this classic Queen tune. I'll have more time this weekend, but others are welcome to expresss themselves. I just want to comment on Lynn's post. I tried, for about two weeks, to do only what I needed to to maintain constant pressure on PP # 3. My body hurt everywhere. :crybaby: I had an incredibly wide arc and my triceps ached at angles I did not think possible! Every now and then, I busted the ball really far and straight. When I wrote about this, here, my friends were concerned and gracious as I told them about the pain I was experiencing. They had experience and that guided their freedom to experiment. I do not have the skills of my friends here, so I gave up the # 3 PP contact. I went back to setting up with my body positions. This is my own damn fault (Jimmy Buffet). "Some people claim that there's a woman to blame, but I think it's my own damn fault." I chose to slog through my own insights instead of seeing Lynn sooner. So I wasted away again and again in "limited Pivotsville," looking for my lost shaker of LAG... I also ignored Lynn in another way, by using my clubs instead of curtain rods and dowells, which I just started to use and I am going to stick that "I DO WELL WITH MY DOWELS," saying on my forehead with a stencil and highway paint. :o By feeling my hands do LBG coaching, I discovered my FLW was not flat and all sorts of planer irregularities. What I'm trying to say to those reading this is that our wrong experiences based on our high hcp's like my 10.9, should be willing to follow Lynn's lead in his instruction TO THE LETTER BECAUSE THE MAN KNOW HIS STUFF! I WILL DO MY PP#3 DRILLS WITH CURTAIN RODS AND BECOME BETTER! ICT I Want To Break Free Written by John Deacon I want to break free I want to break free I want to break free from your lies You're so self satisfied I don't need you I've got to break free God knows, God knows I want to break free I've fallen in love I've fallen in love for the first time And this time I know it's for real I've fallen in love, yeah God knows, God knows I've fallen in love It's strange but it's true Hey, I can't get over the way you love me like you do But I have to be sure When I walk out that door Oh how I want to be free, baby Oh how I want to be free Oh how I want to break free But life still goes on I can't get used to living without, living without Living without you by my side I don't want to live alone, hey God knows, got to make it on my own So baby can't you see I've got to break free I've got to break free I want to break free, yeah I want, I want, I want, I want to break free Ooh yeah I want to break - yeah eah |
Hand controlled pivot is one the things that really scared me when I read the book. It just triggered an alarm that said "not for me!" because I always fight a tendancy to overcontrol and steer the golf club. Then I learnt from here that this means being conscious of the hands, of where I want to send them. Not enough to stop the steering. My current thought on that is that I need to form the flying wedges, picture in my mind the structure of the wedges and the hands at their tip as well as the plane, sending the hands and the intact flying wedges to the Top (or End).

Uppercutting golfing ignorance
Quote:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smYDJ0Ut-G0 Yesterday, at the urging of a driving range buddy, Anthony, after we had discussed most of the published literature by Ben Hogan, Moe Norman, and VJ Trolio's "The Final Missing Piece," we started discussing being connected, PIvot, keeping the right elbow down. As Anthony started Swinging with his right arm he hit several perfect one arm drives 250 yards plus with his one arm. As I tried to do this, Anthony said "Throw an uppercut!" ( He has looked at LBG several times.) Wow! Power, speed and accuracy. I have practices constantly this last year in isolating different zones to master some part of TGM. This one complex motion of uppercutting, which focuses on Hitting with the right hand, is a great way to explain the golf Swing and Hit. ICT |
In relationship to the uppercut motion, consider more excellent LBG video. Do this and then do the two-handed uppercut or Hogan's "medicine ball throw."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Wd2D350qws Get a good grip, set your right arm with a dowel or curtain rod on a table at chest level fully extended almost, tilt, bend the right elbow and punch a bully or evil dictator in the stomach, hard. Golf = victory over evil dictators and bad things everywhere ; > |
Repeat after me and I will begin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCWUyW0cN-w Imagine Lynn uppercutting golfing ignorance! ICT |
In Karate, they warned of over-acceleration. The stroke in golf is deliberate, heavy, and not quick tp paraphrase Lynn.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhE_zS0j6fo Drag the mop as you uppercut! ICT |
Weird!
Short back stroke for Hitting =lots of control to Both Arms Straight much better carry in the air and amazing control with Hinges, while the ball feels like it stays on the club face a long time. By driving the "uppercut" into the #3 PP and to Both Arms Straight, the Titleist Z muscle backs feel like "buttah!" at impact. Driver = 210 yards of carry with slight fade. (Range balls and 53 degrees in Philly). 9 iron is 130 yards of carry and 7 iron is 150 yards of carry. (Thanks Kevin, for da blades!) JerryG, the two hybrids you talked me into carry 190 yards (16 degrees) and 180 ish for the 3 hybrid, 19 degrees). Thanks. ICT |
