I use a weakish grip like that too....I know what you mean about feeling the swivel better with it too BTW. I feel the same thing.

It's not unorthodox in any way....prolly a Weak Single Action....same as Str. Single Action, just w/o the left thumb on the aft (back) of the shaft.

Hogan used a similar grip....not exactly, but on the "weak" side just the same.
