Perhaps the 1 st. step, especially for newbies, should be one or two simple things? I suggest the hands, further simplified to the proper grip (I know, I know), starting with the cocking of the left wrist, bending of the right wrist (get lag). Then the function of each , together, on the downswing (keep lag).
A starting point? Flying wedges next?
