Broomstick putters
I have one,but use it only when my back isnt good, its just easier for me. I bought it some 20yrs ago when they were the in thing, but soon found they were actually frowned upon by my fellow golfmates so I went back to normal putter.

I will still use it if my back plays up for ease only.I found that for me ,it didnt really make much difference for my stats per se.

What are your opinions as to them being banned in the near future,Im sure views will be varied but interesting

I carry my bag and those long putters add too much weight for my liking. After viewing AG's 3rd disk I became more comfortable with putting anyway. I have a garage full of putters and it doesn't seem to matter which one I use as long as I follow the principles shared in AG.

I'm "old school" in golf, so I don't like anything anchored to the body.

There is another aspect that I forgot about my B/stick,when I need to revisit my p/stroke re hand and putter face alignment I do practice with long putter first with short putter nearby so I can swap over ,it has help me in the past.

Im old skool I guess, think that the broomstick is ungolf like etc . But I dont think they help my putting much if at all. If you asked me to name a modern club that has totally changed the way is game played (especially by amateurs) Id say utility wood. Guys who couldnt hit a long iron are now carrying the ball 200 yards and sticking it , even out of the rough where formerly they would have had no chance.

Lets make those things illegal so I can get my one iron out of the basement !

I'm with you, O.B. If I had to give up my two hybrids, I'd have to take up bowling. Those things are like wedges.

Hah. Jerry , those things are game changers. Some guys I play with have three or four of them .... drives me crazy. Guys I used to have a clear advantage over from 250 yards to 190 yards with irons are now zinging shots in there from way out ... What the heck !

I finally got one last summer . That thing cant miss , its like cheating . Lets make them illegal !!!!!

I wanta Random Sweep Release a long iron , long and high again! Jack Nicklaus's long iron play would be obsolete today.

The long wand is uglier but the utility wood is more of a game changer. In regard to the anchoring thing.. Didnt Arnie anchor his hands when putting ? Billy Casper? You can anchor with a short wand.

For the record though ... there's something very ugly about the long wand to my eye. Doesnt seem like golf. Lets get rid of it but .... it isnt that much advantage to my mind.
