Don't know the whole history but you can find them sometimes on ebay for a deal. On a wood, they can be stiff and hard to load if not fitted well. I putzed with 4 variations before I found the one I like. Several were telephone poles. Have 3 drivers (all SMTs) set up with them, now, they load very nicely, feel like silky smooth, and give near or close to the same distance as a mid-weight graphite. I don't find them to feel the same as steel, tho. Just a bit different; not better or worse... The ones I have installed and the ones I still have raw, don't have as pronounced a spine as graphites I have installed... YMMV, tho. Some folks reeeally don't like them What are you thinking of doing with them?
