His contention is that Hogans statement about the secret being in the dirt was not a reference to practice but rather a literal truth. His extra spike , ground force, pivot points are all in the dirt. He posted macro photos of Hogans feet mid swing showing twists and gaps between his foot and shoe that suggest to him a confirmation of something he himself discovered and does to great effect. Namely a pre screwing or torque of the feet in a clockwise direction which "automates" the Hogan pivot that VJ describes. Once pre set the pivot is automatic.

He asked Moe if he did it and he asked Moe if Hogan did it. Moe said something like " Why sure, sure, sure he did" and then pulled out a series of Hogan photos to discuss it. Interesting.

The pre screwing of the right foot automates the Hogan transition and promotes backing into the left side with the right hip back. The pre screwing of the left foot automating the posting on the left side.

I am playing around with it to mixed results. The prescrew on the right side does seem to make the right hip clear on its own going back. I'd be happy as a clam if I could "automate" the Hogan left side post up. Only been working on it for 30 years or so.

Has anybody ever heard of this pre screw thing before?

Foot pressure testing pates been around for quite some time. Hogan wrote that he kept the presuure on the insides of his feet.
