Interesting how feels can affect mechanics. I have been trying to keep my weight left while the club swings back. It puts the chest over the ball perfectly. When I feel the weight go back, it has moved me too far off the ball. Now it makes sense, a tripods top does not move. It also preserves one's alignments perfectly thru impact. Nice round, we are just starting to see grass here in Minnesota.

Boy, talk about feel isn't real...
I played a little in Iowa last week. Terrible case of what I thought was driver yips. Felt hopeless. Again, it wasn't the yips, it was alignments. All my good work with maintaining a flat left wrist, and I wasn't maintaining it with the driver. I was flipping! I couldn't feel it, and my camera isn't good enough when inside to see it.
My friend Jerry saw it and fixed me. Jerry learns everything right here and from books YODA recommended him. My nomination for Minnesota Teacher Of The Year, Jerry Gruepner. His high school team is very lucky to have him as their swing coach.

I have been cycling around all these images, also. A couple of times I did VJ's move on purpose and got a sold 230 yard carry. But I could not replicate it. since that time, I have realized the Flail's importance and the power of arms in Zone 2, and the needed connectedness of the chains.
I played last Sunday morning with one thought. I made myself swing around a stationary head. It was 35 degrees and blustery with a sunny sky. We were playing two man better ball so I was taking some chances I would not normally take and shot 9 pars but 3 doubles and one trip bogie =91
Our team core was 73. My bulls eye putter was so sweet. Thanks JerryG!
The greens were like ice, so to speak! LOL Oh wait, freezing is 32 degr. F.

I find it easier to flip w/ the driver. Hitting it fat or thin, the usual result of throw away or flip can be disguised w/ a driver since it's up in the air.

I'm sorry I missed this earlier but I nominate Jerry for the coveted "Pink Lemonade and Steak Sandwich" award to be presented at the end of June 2011 at any place he indicates in MN or Wisconsin.

Thanks City, but by then I will have lost any right to the privilege due to one of my usual mess-ups.
