Our starting hole was 573 yards and Steve hit a perfect drive down the middle. One of our competitors said, "Fort, you can get in the cart" after Steve hit. I was a little offended, so I smashed it (about 40 yards past their best ball) and we had 245 yards remaining. They expected the old Fort. After that hole, they didn't say anything about me getting in the cart and riding.
Great play'n Luke
Are you way longer than you used to be? When and how did you achieve that?

One more kid and I'm going on Tour!
My geometry is much better than it ever was. As a result, I can load it as hard as I can. My geometry was so bad for so long that direction was in question when I tried to heavy load it.
I've done some limited practice with Speed Chains and Impact Bags, etc. I've tested my speed when using different drills, to find out which ones are paying off.
Ted - How fast are you swinging/hitting that clubhead?
I suffered a little swingspeedwise after I've started hitting with the driver. I'm under 100 mph now. So I'm real interested in getting the speed up to the old 105 mph or so.
Please elaborate on your view on how to most effectively increase swingspeed, or should I call it hitspeed

When I'm warmed up, my speed is between 112 and 115, with a driver. My max with a driver is still 124. I had no feet on the ground at Impact, when I caught that one on video. My max speed with a 1" dowel hitting an Impact bag is 128.
I'm 4 barrel Hitting most of the time. I would doubt that I ever get above 115 when playing stroke play. The scramble format gives greater license.
With the speed chain, I'll do 3 sets of 8 reps moving it back and forth as quickly as I can possibly move it. I rest a couple of minutes between sets. It has to be very explosive to train the fast twitch. I'll do some Impacts and drawbacks with the dowel, when hitting the bag.
Overtraining the fast twitch muscle fibers will fatigue them and the slow twitch will be recruited. So, speed training is like sprinting. To run fast, there must be rest in between sets. You shouldn't hit 500 balls with a driver to get faster. It's better to hit less than ten balls at a time with rest between each shot. Rest is as important as the action.

How or what do you load? Your right elbow? Float load? Where do you feel it? Everybody is different maybe. How do you generate more speed when you need it? More #1 pressure?
Ill talk to the wife about another kid just to cover all the bases.

I'm going to respond to your post, but I've been completely booked. I'm booked today, too. I'll try tonight.
no rush Luke. Hang with the kids if you've been busy. I have been hitting of late and am curious how you add pressure for a longer than normal drive.
Regards
I have been a little busy. I gave 21 lessons on Friday and Saturday. I was very tired, and I wanted to answer your post when I could stay awake.
I'm using all 4 Barrels. I Float my Right Elbow in Start Down. I'm Dragging then Driving. I developed my stroke by practicing for two months, going only to Follow Through. The both arms straight position after Impact is imperative. I imagine my club going fastest after Impact. When I want to max out the distance, I want the club to feel as heavy as I can make it.
